Officials declared a disaster occurred in Dallas, Texas, on Mon after widespread and devastating flooding from heavy rain that killed at to the lowest degree i person.

Judge Clay Jenkins, the chief elected official of Dallas County, tweeted that a sixty-year-old woman died – the outset fatality – when her vehicle was swept away by alluvion waters.

The DWU said that although there is no danger to the h2o supply, the public should avoid contact with waste material, soil or h2o in whatever of the affected areas.

"Persons using individual drinking water supply wells located inside a half-mile of the spill sites or within the potentially impacted areas should use only water that has been distilled or boiled at a rolling eddy for at least one minute for all personal uses including drinking, cooking, bathing and tooth brushing," information technology said.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott directed the land'southward Sectionalisation of Emergency Direction to increase the readiness level of the Texas State Emergency Operations Eye.
